Zardoz · A4 Screenprint (SOLD OUT)
I saw Zardoz (1974) for the first time this year and made these screen prints at Print Club as a tribute.
If you haven't seen the film, it features Sean Connery in red thigh-high boots travelling around a dystopian County Wicklow in a giant floating head (pictured). It's wild and weird with some actually good moments and one really bad twist.I've always loved screen printing and had a blast learning the process of applying emulsion, exposing, making the stencil, printing and then clearing the emulsion. It was great spending a day working with my hands on a project, and getting used to the squeegee printing meant that some of the final prints have various flaws. These ones turned out to be my favourites ~ swipe to see the version where the head seems to loom out of a solid background of ink.
Series of 10. Purple ink screen printed by my lil hands onto heavy A4 paper.
