The Jump is a pop culture comedy podcast about the art of the adaptation. When Niamh, Grace and I talked about designing a pin for the show, I cycled through a lot of ideas - but images about recording equipment, film props, quotes, or just the podcast logo didn't seem to get to the heart of what The Jump is.

It wasn't until I listened to the advance episodes sent by the gals that I realised it's as much about them coming together as it is about the intersection between original text and adaptation. All of a sudden, the solution seemed simple: a design of two halves that combines to make something new and more interesting than before! It's a collaboration in every sense.

The book and film reel can be shared, swapped, worn as separate pieces or as one shape that creates the title of the podcast. The two fonts are references to two acclaimed adaptations: The Godfather (book) and The Virgin Suicides (film).
